Mid-December here officially marks the two-year anniversary of this blog, and roughly the two-and-a-half year anniversary of this game. Our characters and the plot have certainly come a long way (remember Elysium? Yeah, that was a thing that used to happen in this city) but I can’t help but reflect on how this overall game writeup has evolved as well. From humble, rambling beginnings on Facebook, this has become an on-going epic spanning tens of thousands of words (and I don’t even want to think how many hours). All this writing has improved my overall writing skills, though that has yet to pay off since I still haven’t sold an original story of my own. So really, the only reason I do it is because somehow, somewhere, people out there read and enjoy it too.
And I’d like to know why. See, WordPress shows me a general hit-counter on my posts, but not much more detail than that. I can’t tell if it’s the same people coming over and over again, for instance (and sometimes it is; Jason admits to skimming over past entries to remind himself of plot threads to pick up on) or if it’s just people randomly clicking through. I also don’t know who you, the reader, actually are, and what things–if any–might be encouraging you to stick around.
To that end, I have created a short SurveyMonkey survey with some general questions I’m curious about, and which I hope will help paint a clearer image of who you are on the other side of the screen. If you take a couple minutes to fill it out I would really appreciate it!
Some months ago, friend-of-the-game Seth made an offhand comment here on the blog identifying the main characters of Archer as various Vampire clans. You know, as one does. Many of his points were so spot-on that over time they have sort of evolved into head-canon in my mind and others. I decided to elaborate on this brilliance in an effort to spread the meme.
